Attention, Black Powder enthusiasts.  Plan to attend our matches to be held on the 50-yard range of the BRC South Range Facilities.  Enjoy the camaraderie.

  • $10.00 fee / per shooter / per match
  • Sign-up – ­ 9:00 a.m. … First shots – 9:30 a.m.
  • Match open to all shooters using percussion or flintlock muzzle-loading rifles and pistols of the type used before 1840 … Firearm must have side hammer and fire a patched round ball … NO in-line rifles, sabot slugs, or conical rounds
  • Period dress appreciated / casual clothing allowed … (Please, no offensive apparel)
  • Visitors welcome to observe and question all phases of activity

  • Required … One time current ID and BRC waiver form/signature
  • Mandatory … Eye and ear protection

Targets of choice include metal, tin cans, charcoal briquettes, wood, etc.  Pistol and rifle stages will differ with each match. Bring enough powder patches and balls to fire 50 rounds and prepare to shoot distances of 11 to 100 yards.

A Powder Horn tie-tack/hat pin will be awarded to the winner of a randomly selected stage at each match. This ‘Pin Stage’ will be announced before the start of the assigned event. Any participant who has not previously won a pin is eligible to win.  So, dust off your old smoke-pole, keep your powder dry, and join us at home … on the range!!!
